ALTA Surveys, Same-Day Orthos and a Corner That Didn’t Want to Be Found

July was a busy month for ALTA/NSPS surveys at Abraham Land Surveying.

In Cayce, Lee, Gage and one of our UAVs worked together on an ALTA survey for a Zaxby’s. On another ALTA, our drone workflow was so efficient that the orthomosaic was done before the crew even got back to the office. ALTA/NSPS surveys are detailed surveys often required for commercial real estate transactions. Pairing traditional fieldwork with drone imagery gives our clients a clear, current picture of the property.

Persistence paid off this month too. Our crew recovered an original property corner that was buried far underground. They trusted the math, followed up with a magnetic locator, and didn’t give up until they found the iron. Recovering original monuments like this is at the heart of good boundary surveying. It ties today’s survey to the evidence left by the surveyors who came before us.

And sometimes the job brings a little wildlife. On a quick trip to Hilton Head, our team came face to face with an osprey family nesting at the top of a tower.
