Back in Jasper County: A Conservation Project at the Southern Tip of the State
Some projects stay with you, and the large conservation project we’ve been working on in Jasper County is one of them. In October our field crew headed back down to the job, nearly as far south as you can go and still be surveying in South Carolina.
The highlight of this trip was a truly impressive tree. Collecting a good position right next to something that big isn’t always easy, so credit goes to our Trimble R12i GNSS receiver for getting the shot. Our friends at Duncan-Parnell agreed it was “such a cool shot!”
Conservation work shows why careful field surveying matters. Large tracts, natural features and long property lines all need to be located and documented accurately so the land can be protected for years to come. Whether it’s a single residential lot in Newberry County or a large tract in the Lowcountry, our approach doesn’t change: modern equipment, experienced crews and close attention to detail.
We always enjoy going back to this project, and we’re grateful to work in some of the most beautiful parts of our state.
